Drink In Simple Pleasures Often

Your soul thrives on the little things…

. That deep inhale that precedes the first sip of your warm cup in the morning.

. Hearing the birds whistling through the rustling trees.

. A shared glance and a smile with a stranger.

. An unrestricted laugh at something you found silly.

. The song that reminds you of a loved lost one that makes you remember happy times.

. Feeling the sun on your face.

. The sensation of water trickling down your spine in the shower.

. The aroma of flowers as you pass by a garden.

. The softness of a kitten or a fluffy blanket.

. The fun in reading awesomely articulate alliterations. (Just me? No?)

It’s these kinds of little moments that truly nourish our soul and bring us joy. They bring pleasure through our senses and return us both to our body and humanity. Our soul came here to feel the human experience, and the human experience is exalted in this little moments that are so easily passed by.

Don’t pass by. Notice as much as you possibly can and relish in every sense available to you. When you return to your body in this way, you also begin to tap into more of the innate wisdom within you. Being grounded in our senses and our bodies allows us to hear and reach for answers we may be looking for.

Don’t pass by. Breathe in the moments that feel good, for that’s what makes this human experience worth it. Find the pleasure that comes with absorbing the experience through all of your senses. Appreciate them as you bask in these sensual moments and find more experiences to wake up your sensation muscles.

Don’t pass by. Stop. Take your life moment by moment, for it’s in those moments when your soul comes to life. This is something simple that you can do just for you, that makes you feel alive and invigorated. It can take but a moment… And a carefully conscious moment can last forever.

So, really, these so-called little things aren’t so little at all. We need those moments to make the most out of anything we may be facing.

Pleasure isn’t a bad word… In fact, we should seek it in every available opportunity.

Take a moment and return to your senses for me (Actually, it’s for you!). What’s immediately around you? What can you see, touch, hear, smell, feel or even taste? From there, sink into each individual sense and sensation for a moment. Spread it out. See how that feels in your body. Expand your senses into it. Appreciate the sensations and feelings it brings you.

That’s how you thrive in the moment. Once you thrive in the moment, then you’re sure to notice more of the sensual magic that naturally comes with being human. Embrace it. You deserve this moment. Always.
